Horse pulled from ditch

A horse who had slipped into a ditch had to be rescued by firefighters this morning.

Three crews were called to Hepworth Road, Market Weston, at 9.53am to reports of the horse being stuck in a shallow ditch.

A vet was in attendance and the teams used a pulley to haul the horse out.

The job was done by midday, with the horse unhurt in the incident.
