Holiday site aimed at the disabled
Keith and Lynda Harrison who used to run a fishery business at Elmswell, have now diversified and are launching two holiday homes - caravans - specially adapted for people with disabillities,
WHEN Keith and Lynda Harrison decided to put a holiday home on their fishery they decided to add an extra dimension.
“As my wife is a carer for a lady with multiple sclerosis we knew how hard it is for her to find anywhere to go on holiday, so we’ve gone down that route,” said Keith.
The first of the two planned static caravans at their site on Wetherden Road, Elmswell, is designed for people with disabilities, with a wet room, slings to help getting into bed and ramp access.
In fact, they have even gone as far as adding a platform on the edge of the lake the caravan overlooks so people can fish from wheelchairs.
Keith said: “We’ve already had a lad down from Scope who wanted to go fishing with his dad who couldn’t take him, so his carers brought him here. He caught four and was chuffed.
“It’s really a place for people who want a peaceful holiday.”
