Headway celebrates 25 years

A charity that supports people with acquired brain injury is exhibiting members’ work in celebration of its 25th anniversary.

West Suffolk Headway, based in Northgate Street, Bury St Edmunds, offers support to around 45 individuals and their families each week.

Its members range from victims of car accidents to those suffering from the effects of strokes or degenerative neurological disorders.

The charity helped Angus Watt, from Troston, learn to use his left hand after a stroke six years ago left him without the use of his right side.

His art work is among that of members being displayed in St Edmundsbury Cathedral until tomorrow.

Headway manager Dave Taylor said: “I think it’s good for members to see their work in a public space. Hearing people say positive things about it is a boost to their self confidence.”
