Fun Jubilee plans for estate

PREPARATIONS are under way for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and Moreton Hall has lots to offer the celebrations.

Coronation Saturday, on June 2, will see customers and staff at the Moreton Hall Ember Inn dress in red, white and blue.

On June 3, from 11am, will be a Queen’s Jubilee big lunch field party, with everyone invited to take a picnic to the field next to the community centre, off Symonds Road.

London’s boat parade will be shown on a big screen and games will be held for children and adults, some new ones as well as the old favourites.

There will also be a barbecue and a grand rounders tournament. For your chance to become estate champions, enter a team from your road, street or close by calling 07875 114682.

Christ Church will also hold a special service and lunch.

On June 4, from 1pm, will be a ‘silly record breaking day’, with events including beer mat flipping, baked bean eating and longest flight of a paper aeroplane. For details, call 01284 768660.

And the pub will host a garden party, with face painting, sack races, bingo, a barbecue from 4-6pm and evening music.
