MALE fund-raisers will don their tights in the name of truth, justice and St Nicholas Hospice Care for a superhero themed walk.

Men and boys are being encouraged to wear a pair of pants over their tights, leggings and jogging bottoms just like their favourite costumed crimefighters for the five mile sponsored trek in Nowton Park on Sunday.

Dynamic father and son duo David and Joshua Hammond are among those who have signed up for the men-only Load of Pants event.

Joshua, 18, said: “When my Nanna told us about Load of Pants, me and my Dad wanted to take part as we thought it was good there was a fund-raising event especially for men.”

The walk also carries special significance for the pair.

David, 45, said: “In 2009 we lost my father to prostate cancer and this has been my first real opportunity to do something to raise money for a charity which helps people with the disease.”

Load of Pants is open for those aged 12 and upwards. However, those aged 12 to 17 will need permission from a parent or guardian.
