Firemen yomping for charity
TWO firemen who plan a 53-mile charity ‘yomp’ will let people try on some of the kit they plan to do it in on Saturday.
David Starie and Paul Shattock, from Bury St Edmunds Fire Station, who last year did four marathons in four days, plan to march from Newmarket to Felixstowe in aid of the Fire Fighters’ Charity and Arthritis Research UK in October.
They will do it wearing the fire service’s standard issue heat resistant uniform and full breathing apparatus.
They will be in the Cotswold Outdoor store, in Abbeygate Street, Bury, on Saturday signing up sponsors and letting people try on the uniform jackets to see how warm they are. You can also give at www.justgiving.com/teams/Hot2Trot
