Fire crews tackle factory machinery fire

Several fire crews were called to a machinery fire in a factory in Eastern Way, Bury St Edmunds, this afternoon.

Crews from Bury, Wickhambrook, and Ixworth plus a turntable ladder from Ipswich attended. But a fire service spokeswoman said: “Because this was a four story building we had to send an aerial appliance.”

The fire was inside machinery and had set off smoke alarms.
