Festive scene sees shop win best window in Bury St Edmunds
A wintry Christmas scene has seen Paul Stephens in Bury St Edmunds win best festive window display.
The shop in The Traverse came second last year in the competition, organised by Bid4Bury.
Owner Judy Young said: “It is lovely. We tend to change out window display two or three times a week and it pays off. It stops people in the street. To us it is very important.
“With this we went for a cold wintry feel. We wantedit to look like a winter wonderland.”
Mark Cordell, chief executive of Bid4Bury, presented Judy and her staff with a winner’s shield on Tuesday.

“Some shops have made a real effort this year and some less so.
“It is about taking pride in your business, in a similiar way to the way you would at home.
“It sends out the right signals, subliminal messages that you look after the appearance of your shop and will look after your customers in a similiar way.”
A panel of judges toured the town before deciding on the winner. Bury Bridal Rooms on Brentgovel Street and Accessorize in the arc were both highly commended, coming in as runner’s up.
