The Federation of Small Businesses are appealing for firm who have been let down by banks to contact them ahead of an event at Lynford Hall.

Research by the FSBshows that nearly half of all small businessess are unsuccessful in gaining finance.

It says that with so little competition, new lending practices to access finance, need to be explored.

“Following serious issues such as mis-sold loans to small firms and the steep charges associated with overdrafts there is a need to work with banks and MP’s to solve these problems,” said an FSB spokeswoman.

“Following a successful event last year, the Federation of Small Businesses East Anglia is bringing together representatives from high street banks, along with MP’s and the small business community to discuss the needs of small firms, and the broken relationships that currently exists between the banks and small businesses.

“In order to demonstrate how the banks have let small businesses down, and how they can respond to the needs of small businesses, we need your issues and stories to bring to the banks, and help you on the issues that matter.”

Firms are asled to contact lucy.bell-reeves@fsb.org.uk or Jeanette.Thurtle@fsb.org.uk

The FSB says any information provided to it will be kept confidential.

The issues will be raised at a banking foru scheduled to take place at Lynford Hall on January 11. More information on the event will be announced nearer the time.
