Fashion store signs up for arc

Women's fashion store Jane Norman has signed up to the Cattle Market redevelopment, in Bury St Edmunds.

David Lewis, associate director at Centros, the developers behind the scheme, said: "Jane Norman is a top fashion name that will really complement the high street fashion line-up of arc.

"It is another new name for Bury and we expect to announce more new names over the coming weeks."

Meanwhile, Centros held a marketing event in London's West End last week, targeting retailers and property agents.

Cllr Sara Mildmay-White, deputy leader of St Edmundsbury Borough Council, was at the event attended by around 100 retailers and told them they would receive a warm welcome in Bury.

"This was a unique opportunity to speak to potential investors in Bury face to face and to hear what they are looking for. The town is in an enviable position with its powerful mix of the historic and contemporary retail and it was a pleasure to share our optimism over its future," she said.

Centros said the event led to a number of new retailers expressing interest in the development. It also said that more than 85 per cent of the retail floorspace was now either let or in solicitors' hands.
