Estate veg makes it to top table
A RESTAURANT voted as the best in the world has picked ingredients from our area as it launches a special outpost.
The Copenhagen-based eatery Noma has been voted best in the world for three years in a row.
Since Saturday, Noma has been hosting a 10-day pop-up restaurant at Claridge’s in London and has picked produce from the Elveden Estate’s Kitchen Garden as part of its menu.
Chef de cuisine Matt Orlando spent months sourcing the best produce from across the UK and the estate’s rainbow baby carrots and rainbow radishes were selected to be part of the five-course menu.
Andrew Frances, Elveden farm manager, said: “It is fantastic that the best restaurant in the world has chosen to use our vegetables.
“The aim of the kitchen garden is to grow great-tasting British produce for the very best UK restaurants and we are delighted that Noma recognise the level of quality.”
The kitchen garden’s produce is also available to chefs via Elveden’s distribution network and to the public at the Elveden Courtyard food hall. Call 01842 890223 for details.
