Estate agents set to move into rental market

A fixture in the Bury St Edmunds housing market is making its first steps into rentals.

Independent Estate Agents Mortimer & Gausden have recently announced the opening of their new Residential Lettings and Property Management Department.

Andrew Mortimer, co Director, said: “We have been asked by so many of our clients if we would manage their portfolios for them and now that our estate agency is so well established, we feel that this would be the right time to add these extra services to our business.

“Having been in estate agency for over 25 years, I have seen a huge change in demand within the rental sector and I suspect this upward trend will continue in the coming years.”

Ian Gausden, director, added: “We have held back a little before starting to deal with the rental market, mainly because we wanted to be sure that we had the resources to provide the highest standard of service to match that of our estate agency divison.

“Our aim is not to be the largest letting agency in the town, but to be the best, we are keen to build long- standing relationships with our landlords giving them ultimate peace of mind, whilst ensuring that the best rental income is secured.

“We have put some very robust systems in place with all potential tenants having to complete the most detailed referencing process available.”
