Electrical retailer announces closure of Mildenhall store
Retailer Taylor Electrical has announced its four Suffolk stores will be closed, leaving a gap in Mildenhall High Street.
Directors of the Suffolk based firm, which has been trading since 1921, regretfully announced the closure of all stores in the next few months.
In a statement they said: “The cumulative effect of the prolonged economic downturn, plus additional competition from the internet, has adversely affected turnover in recent years and despite considerable savings in overhead costs the company can no longer trade profitably.”
Established in 1921 Taylor Electrical also has stores in Beccles, Diss and Halesworth.
It has had a presence in Mildenhall High Street for almost a decade.
As a result of the closure 23 jobs will be lost, three in the Mildenhall store.
Taylor Electrical has said a closing down sale will run indefinitely in all branches until stock is sold.
