Of the 10 NHS regions, East of England had the third highest number of complaints per 100,000 population.

But West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust had one of the lowest levels of complaints to the Health Ombudsman.

The ombudsman’s 2011/12 report shows an increase in complaints nationally but only 17 were against the West Suffolk trust and none were accepted for investigation.

East of England Ambulance Service faced 27 complaints and two were investigated, but no results recorded.

Six of Suffolk Primary Care Trust’s 58 complaints were investigated and two resulted in ombudsman intervention. One of Norfolk PCT’s 56 complaints was investigated and led to an intervention.
