Driver killed in A14 crash named

The driver of a BMW involved in a fatal accident on the A14 at Bury St Edm,unds on Thursday night has been named.

He was 19-year-old Adam Weller from Hereward Way, Weeting. A 16-year-old passenger in the car died at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, yesterday morning and will not be named until after a formal identification.

Friends of the two teenagers gathered in the street outside Poundland in Bury St Edmunds today, placing flowers around a tree and singing songs.

A 20-year-old man from Bury St Edmunds driving the second car in the accident, a red Ford Fiesta, was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of dangerous driving and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Witnesses to this collision are asked to call PC Danny Ormes at the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101.
