THE organisers of a summer festival have declared it a success after three weeks of entertainment.
Thetford Festival kicked off on August 24 with open air theatre and closed last weekend with art, comedy and songs of praise.
The diverse spread of events pulled punters in and showed off what the town has to offer, according to Corinne Fulford, organiser.
“Overall, it was very well supported and, from the feedback I am getting, people are very happy with how it went,” she said.
One success story from the event has been the increased exposure for the Charles Burrell Museum.
Ms Fulford said its hosting of the Thetford Academy Art Exhibition had introduced more than 200 new visitors to the museum.
Saturday’s Big Day Out was also a highlight, with dance workshops from the Jaya Dance Bhangra group and traditional Sikh sword dancing in Kings House Gardens.
