KATIE Brett brings a wealth of craft experience to her new role at Denny Bros as she takes over the craft department at the King’s Road store,

For the past year, she has been running the card making and scrapbooking area of the shop but now her role has expanded across the whole department.

Daryn Ruffell, managing director at Denny Bros Supplies, said: “Katie has done extremely well in her first year at Denny’s. She has increased sales in every month since January due to her compassion and enthusiasm.

“I have no doubt that over time she will make the same difference in the craft department.”

The 26-year-old, who is self-taught, has carried out demonstrations for the Crafter’s Companion at trade shows and retail events.

She said there is still strong interest in craft skills, particularly card making and stamping.

“I like the purchasing side, looking at the new products but I also enjoy the contact with the customers,” she said.
