Norfolk has appointed its first deputy police and crime commissioner.

Jenny McKibben, from Norwich, was nominated for the role by recently-elected police and crime commissioner, Stephen Bett, at a Norfolk Police and Crime Panel on Friday.

She was scrutinised by a panel of councillors and independent members to determine her suitability for the role.

The panel found that her experience of working for the Norfolk Police Authority and understanding of the key responsibilities and issues of the role made her ‘well qualified’.

She started working in the role yesterday and will support and deputise for Mr Bett.
