Council to appoint panel to help bring down £750k a year Apex subsidy in Bury St Edmunds

A panel of councillors is to be appointed to help The Apex in Bury St Edmunds cut its £750,000 a year subsidy.

Next week St Edmundsbury Borough Council’s cabinet will be asked to approve plans to enable a panel of up to seven councillors and three co-opted members to be appointed.

‘The panel will act as an informal cabinet panel to closely monitor the performance of The Apex in order to guide its management team on future programming and letting strategy,” a report said.

It will meet at least four times a year and will also look at The Apex’s relationship with Sodexo Prestige who the council only recently appointed to run the catering there.
