Children from the United Reform Church Playgroup in Stowmarket invited Mayor Anne Whybrow to visit them to thank her for a recent grant of £240 awarded by the town council.

The grant was used to purchase a wide range of art equipment for the group.

Playgroup leader, Lesley Tupper said: “We are so grateful to Stowmarket Town Council for the funding.

“We were able to purchase a large collection of craft materials which caused great excitement amongst the children!

“They couldn’t wait to get busy with the bright poster paints and paper!”

Stowmarket Town Council’s grant scheme will reopen again on 1st August 2013.
Local voluntary and community groups can apply the scheme for funding of up to £500 in respect of projects which benefit Stowmarket residents.
