Change of command at RAF Honington
Group Capt Andy Hall hands over to Goup Capt Scott Miller
A change of command has taken place at RAF Honington with group captain Andy Hall handing over to group captain Scott Miller.
Capt Miller was posted to the base after working on the London 2012 Olympics.
“Assumming command of RAF Honington is both a great priviledge and responsibility, especially at a time when even more RAF Regiment personnel are deploying to Afghanistan to provide vital force protection,” Capt Miller said.
“Whilst there will be much work to do in further developing the regiment’s capabilities, I’m also determined to ensure that the strong bonds with the local community are maintained, and new ones fostered.
“I’ve always been impressed by how Suffolk has willingly embraced and supported RAF Honington and the RAF Regiment familiy; my family and I look forward to our time in your midst.”
Capt Hall is off to head the Defence College at Shrivenham in the New Year.
He had been at Honington for two years.
“Our serving personnel, civil servants, civil contractors and families are the best of the best, and it is humbling to have experienced their selfless drive and commitment.
“My thoughts also go to our bereaving families and to our injured personnel. Look after each other,” he said.
