Care home plan scrutinised

A £60 million take over and investment of Suffolk County Council’s care homes can now go ahead after the move was scrutinised by councillors.

The authority’s scrutiny committee endorsed the decision to transfer 16 facilities to Care UK.

The matter was called in by six opposition councillors due to concerns over ‘inadequate information’.

The majority of the committee was ‘not convinced’ by that argument.
