Car fire stops traffic in Bury

Car fire on Parkway in Bury.

FIRE fighters were called into action on Parkway in Bury St Edmunds this afternoon after a car burst into flames.

Drivers looked on as one crew from Bury fought the flames pouring out of the blue Metro’s bonnet at around 4.20pm.

The crew was on the scene for around ten minutes. The driver was an elderly female, according to witnesses. She appeared to be unhurt.

Police closed the road while the fire was dealt with but it has now reopened.
