Camera firm snaps £100m credit deal
THE parent company of camera equipment company Vinten, in Western Way, Bury St Edmunds, has announced a £100million refinancing deal to allow its expansion.
The Vitec Group has just recorded a 21.2 per cent increase in its operating profit for the first half of the year.
A statement said Vintens in Bury had enjoyed good growth over the first six months of the year.
Stephen Bird, group chief executive for The Vitec Group, said: “Vitec has continued to perform, well in the first half of the year with an increase in profitability and improvement in margins across all of our divisions.
“Our broadcast business achieved an encouraging sales performance across the product range.”
He also said it had sold a loss- making staging business, which would allow the group to focus on the core areas of its business.
The group has already brought Camera Corps, which makes remote camera systems for broadcasters, earlier this year, and said the credit deal will allow further growth.
