Business leader meet with transport minister in Bury St Edmunds to discuss A14 improvements
The Suffolk Chamber of Commerce has pressed transport under secretary Stephen Hammond MP about the need for improvements on the A14.
Business leaders met with Mr Hammond at a meeting in Bury St Edmunds to discuss congestion between Cambridge and Huntingdon.
The meeting was organised by Bury and Stowmarket MP David Ruffley.
John Dugmore, chief executive of Suffolk Chamber of Commerce said: “Firms across Suffolk will be encouraged to hear that the Government has acknowledged the necessity of sorting out the congested stretch of the A14 between Cambridge and Huntingdon and identifying it as an urgent government priority.
“The solution that Government chooses must be right for business. “We have worked alongside our partners in Cambridgeshire for a number of years to raise the profile of the problems on the A14.
“The Government is clearly listening and we have to make clear that the time is right and the time is now for improvements to be made.”
