Bus station letter sent

A LETTER urging a u-turn on plans for Thetford’s new bus station has been sent to a Government minister.

At a meeting on Tuesday, Thetford Town Council agreed to send the letter to Eric Pickles, secretary of state for communities and local government.

The letter, which outlines objections to the moving of the bus station to Minstergate, has already been rejected by Mr Pickles after it was sent by the Thetford Society.

Cllr Stuart Wilson said the letter had been rejected as it was not seen to be of ‘national importance’ but members agreed to resend it, with minor amendments to be made.
