Bury St Edmunds Town Councillors vote for no tax rise and gives grants to charities

THE council tax precept at Bury St Edmunds Town Council will not go up next year and could even be lowered.

Councillors on its finance committee on Wednesday backed a recommendation by Cllr Paul Farmer that its precept should not increase next year.

The committee also voted to £5,692 to St Nicholas Hospice Care and £250 to Workwise. All the recommendations will go to full council for approval.
