Bury Free Press’ online jobs fair is now open

Bury Free Press’ parent company Johnston Press has launched the online Jobstoday virtual careers fair.

It began on Monday, runs to March 1, and is designed so employers can showcase their business to job seekers.

The fair includes online features such as chat and video technology, to enable businesses to demonstrate what their vacancies will involve.

Job seekers meanwhile can show off their skills and expertise to land their next job.

Businesses involved include Victoria’s Secret, the Hesley Group, Ikea, DFS, Direct Line, Nationwide, the Ministry of Defence plus many more.

Joanne Harwood, Group Category Manager at Johnston Press, said: “We’ve had a lot of interest in the fair since the registration process began in January from both businesses and jobseekers.

“We’re really excited about bringing together these motivated candidates and employers helping to fill great vacancies across a wide variety of sectors in the UK.

“Candidates will be able to browse employers by location to find vacancies in their area.

“The virtua stands provide lots of information to help candidates decide whether the company is right for them and to give them a better feel for the role.

“The chat functionality helps candidates increase their chances of landing their next role as they are able to demonstrate their skills and experience clearly before reaching the interview stage, bringing

to life their CVs.

“We hope that many of these conversations will lead to great job opportunities, and we wish everyone the best of luck.”
