Bungee jump raises cash for charity

BRAVE bungee jumpers raised money for St Nicholas Hospice Care at the weekend.

A 200ft platform was set up outside the Maid’s Head pub, in Mildenhall, which people leapt from in a variety of eccentric costumes to raise money for the charity.

Landlord Jim Watt said: “It was a really, really good day, we had 23 jumpers. It was fantastic.”

Among the characters seen leaping off the platform were a horse, Batgirl and two tigers.

Fears were also faced at a Crazy Animal Show which visited the pub, challenging people to hold spiders and snakes.

The event was held in memory of Charlotte Tagg, of Beck Row, who was killed at the Brighton Speed Trials earlier this month.

The pub believes it has raised between £1,200 and £1,500.
