Britain’s Got Talent finalist Sam Kelly to headline West Suffolk Schools Rock and Pop Awards
A finalist on Britain’s Got Talent will now headline the West Suffolk Schools Rock and Pop Awards.
Singer-songwriter Sam Kelly, who appeared on the top TV talent show last year, will also accompany organisers on a tour of secondary schools across the area to hone pupils’ skills in activity laden workshops.
He replaces band Underline the Sky, who have been forced to pull out from the initiative due to unforeseen circumstances.
A band from each school will be hand picked to battle it out for five accolades at an awards night at The Apex on February 28.
The initiative is being organised by Industry Education in Music in partnerhsip with Suffolk County Music Service and the Bury Free Press.
The schools which have signed up so far are the Aplitude Project, in Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds County Upper, Mildenhall College, Newmarket College, Stowmarket High and Stowupland High.
Easton and Otley College have recently been confirmed as the main sponsor and Havebury Housing Partnership is a category sponsor.
