Book exchange to get village reading

AN OLD-fashioned phone box has been given a new lease of life as a book exchange.

The phone box in The Street, Holywell Row has had shelves fitted in it and the village’s residents are being invited to borrow books and leave those they have enjoyed so that others can read them.

Gillian Fisher who will be overseeing the use of the book exchange said: “It’s gradually filling up with books.

“It seems quite good now and then I see more books are going on the shelves, we seem to have a decent selection of subjects.”

The phone box was handed over to Beck Row, Holywell Row and Kenny Hill Parish Council by BT who would have otherwise removed it.
