Bodies meet on skate park

Solutions are being sought to resolve ‘issues’ around Thetford’s long-awaited skatepark project, according to stakeholders.

Representatives from Keystone Development Trust, Breckland Council, the Healthy Living Centre and Thetford Town Council met on Wednesday to try and agree a way forward for the project, planned for a site off Croxton Road.

A statement issued by the town council said: “A project team is now being formed to actively look to resolve the issues with the existing site, while looking at any potential new sites.

“All parties are keen to see a skate park built and have agreed in principle a way forward, subject to necessary approvals.”

As reported in last week’s Bury Free Press, Keystone and the Healthy Living Centre have concerns regarding safety, management of the park and the impact on tenants and patients.

Earlier this week, the town council said an easement for pedestrian access over Keystone property would be needed if the current site were to be used.
