The BNI which sees businesses help each other by refer trade to other members, has launched its latest chapter in Bury St Edmunds.

The Business Network International works by creating a group of professionals – but each chapter will only accept one person from each trade background so the Bury chapter can only have one accountant, one architect or one plumber.

They meet once a week and refer trade to each other helping their businesses collectively grow.

The St Edmund BNI chapter was launched at the Suffolk Hotel and Golf Club at Fornham St Genevieve last Wednesday. More than 130 people attended the launch which saw Tim Gale, area director for the BNI talk about business growth.

He said heir aim in 2013 is to add a further 20 businesses to the group and through, look to pass over £1m a year between members.

“Our sole aim is to bring a mix of local businesses together to pass referrals to each other,” said Adrian Peck, Director Consultant for BNI.

“Our group’s built on good old fashioned ‘word of mouth’ marketing princi and tles. We all know lots of different people both socially and in business.

“Group members build trust and knowledge with each other. Then, using our contacts help match members services to contacts we know.”

The group will meet every Wednesday from 6.45am to 8.30pm at the Self Centre on Moreton Hall.

“Based on the enormous success of our launch event, which was hosted by the current members, this group will soon double in size.

“And within a short time a considerable amount of business will be passed in the meetings in the weeks and years to come at St Edmund” said Mr Peck.

Anyone interested in joining can either turn up at a Wednesday meeting or contact Mr Peck on 07833 259 458 or 01449 722 824 or aemail drian.peck@system4results.co.uk
