Birthday boy Dennis raises cash for St Nicholas Hospice Care in Bury St Edmunds

Dennis Driscoll and 130 guests raised £400 for St Nicholas Hospice Care at his 75th birthday at the Sugar Beet club in Bury St Edmunds.

He lost his wife Nancy just over a year ago. “I wanted to give something back to the hospice,” he said.

The money was raised playing bingo.

Dennis is secretary of the Bury Interclub Darts League which has also been raising money for the hospice.

“Every time we have a match, instead of the losers buying the winners a drink, they each put a £1 into the pot. We raised £1,000 in a year,” said Dennis.
