Biggest food drive breaks records

Shoppers on Moreton Hall have helped to break records during the UK’s biggest ever single-charity food drive.

On the weekend of October 6, customers at Sainsbury’s in Bedingfeld Way donated enough food to provide 1,000 meals for vulnerable people affected by food poverty, which the supermarket matched, bringing the total to 2,000 meals.

Named the Million Meal Appeal, the food drive involved more than 900 stores nationwide and saw two million meals donated to FairShare.
