Big-hearted Rosy’s birthday gift to hospice
Rosy Ramos, 10, from Mildenhall, asked for friends to give donations to St Nicholas Hospice Care rather than receive birthday presents
A 10-YEAR-OLD has donated £165 to a hospice after asking friends to donate to the charity instead of buying her presents.
Rosy Ramos, from Mildenhall and a pupil at St Mary’s Academy, asked friends to donate to St Nicholas Hospice Care rather than buy her gifts.
Her generous act was inspired her grandmother having spent time in the hospice before Rosy was born and because her parent’s were married there.
Rosy’s father, Gideon Brimmer, said he and his wife, Tania Ramos, organised their wedding in a day after her mother took a turn for the worse.
He said: “Rosy never knew her Gran but she’s very aware of the hospice. I’m not quite sure where she got her generous nature from, but she’s very keen on helping others.
“Judging by the amount of people she had at her birthday disco she could have had a haul of presents, but she was very keen to have donations for the hospice instead.”
Sue Long, hospice community fund-raiser, said the hospice was ‘incredibly grateful’ to Rosy.
