Appeal for witnesses to Lackford road accident

Police are appealing for information following a road accident on the A1101 near Lackford on Saturday.

Two vehicles, a silver Toyota Celica and a red Volkswagen Passat, collided just before 2pm on Saturday August 18 near the Old Bury Road junction.

Fire crews took nearly 45 minutes to free three injured people from the vehicles.

Two were taken to West Suffolk Hospital by ambulance and the third was flown by air ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. Police say none of the injuries were life changing.

A diversion was set up as the road was blocked until around 5.10pm.

Anyone with information or who witnessed the collision should contact PC Tim Murgatroyd at Bury St Edmunds Road Policing Unit on 101.
