Pupils at Lakenheath Primary School took a trip back in time this week to learn about life in the Victorian era.
The students in years three to six took part in Victorian History Days from Monday to Wednesday, dressing up in costumes and trying out elements of 19th century life.
From handwriting to laundry, the children grappled with challenges which were part of daily life a century ago.
They explored a Victorian house, looking at life above and below stairs from the scullery to the study, which they will use to inspire their own designs for a Victorian doll’s house.
The experience culminated in a Victorian music hall show, with short plays and performances from jugglers and singers.
Class teacher Wendy Shewry said: “It certainly inspired the children as they’ve been talking about it for days!”
“They thoroughly enjoyed the role play activities. It gave them an invaluable authentic experience.”
