When staff at West Suffolk Hospital saw a ‘K Middleton’ listed at the maternity unit, they would be forgiven for thinking the future Queen of England had been admitted.
But rather than the Duchess of Cambridge, it was Beck Row Primary school teacher Kirsten Middleton, of Norton, who was expecting the arrival of her baby boy.
She welcomed son Jake Stanley Fullam, who weighed 8 lbs 9 oz, on Wednesday July 17 at 5.30pm.
Miss Middleton says her name caused quite a commotion on the ward.
“Midwives kept running in as I went up on the staff board as K Middleton. It was quite entertaining,” she laughs. “I’ve had it all the way through the pregnancy.”
Indeed it seems the future Queen has been following in the 28-year-olds footsteps.
“She announced her pregnancy the same day I announced mine. It’s like she has followed me all the way through it. She’s just been a bit late this week bless her.”
What does she think of the royal birth?
“It’s amazing and a really good thing for the royal family. I just hope they get some privacy and time to enjoy him becuase the days do go really fast.”
