Barry Godfrey has confirmed he intends to re-employ 15 staff at Godfrey DIY in Stowmarket and Diss after buying the stores out of liquidation.
The sale comes just weeks after Mr Godfrey instructed insolvency specialists McTear, Williams and Wood to begin winding down the company.
Mr Godfrey said: “It is an exciting time for us.
“We are delighted to have been able to make a successful bid to aquire the Diss and Stowmarket businesses which were the best performing stores. We are really pleased to be able to serve these two vital communities again.
“The customer reaction has been fabulous - the number of people who have come up to me and said they are pleased we are back has been great.”
Mr Godfrey said he now plans to restock the stores with fresh lines of products.
Six people at the Stowmarket store will be re-employed.
