YOU don’t expect to meet a celebrity at 40,000ft – but that’s just what happened to friends Jessica Manning and Lucy Wilding.

The brave pair were waiting for their turn to skydive in aid of Help for Heroes on Saturday when Debbie Douglas, from ITV’s The Only Way is Essex (Towie), joined their jump.

Debbie’s daughter Lydia Bright was also there to wish her mother well.

Jessica, 16, from Bradfield St George, said she did not recognise the Towie star until her friend Lucy, 16, who was also jumping, pointed her out.

Jessica, a pupil at County Upper in Bury St Edmunds, said: “We decided to raise money for Help for Heroes through school.

“We picked skydiving because we had been learning about gravity and friction in science class.

“We were the ninth group to go up in the plane and then Debbie Douglas came and joined our group.

“I don’t watch the show but Lucy does – she said ‘ hey, that’s Debbie from Towie’.

“She was really friendly – after our jump she hugged us and said we were ‘her girls’.”
