SUNDAY, May 26 – ADAM GLASSER: (Cherry Tree, Knowl Green, 8pm, £8. Details: jazz-nights.com) Astonishing South African harmonica wizard with Simon Brown (piano), Bern Hodgkins (bass) and Roger Odell (drums), plus an introductory set from singer Larraine Odell. MELODIOUS THUNK (The Fox, Bury, 7.15pm, free) A quirky selection of jazz standards and obscurities, featuring Myke Clifford (tenor sax/flute), Chris Ingham (piano) and Mick Hutton (bass). ANDY BOWIE (Tram Shed, Cambridge, 8.30pm, free) Tenor saxophone-playing philosophy professor and the Pete Shepherd Trio present a connoisseur’s choice from the modern jazz repertoire, resident at a new venue.

WEDNESDAY, May 29 – LULO REINHARDT: (The Apex, Bury, 8pm, £16/£14) Exotic blend of gypsy swing and Latin jazz from the guitarist who is the great-nephew of the legendary Django Reinhardt. KAREN SHARP (Lakeside, Lyng, 8pm, £10. Details: lakeside-jazz.com) Ex-Humphrey Lyttelton saxophonist with a persuasive, lyrical style on both tenor and baritone, with Phil Brooke (guitar), Bern Hodgkins (bass) and Brian McAllister (drums).
