Friday, August 30 – DAVE GORDON SPEAKS LATIN :(Stoke By Nayland Hotel, 8pm, £15. Details: fleecejazz.org.uk) Inspiring pianist leads an innovative new project drawing on popular music from South America capturing the revolutionary spirit of the 60s and 70s, featuring Jonty Fisher (bass) and Paul Cavaciuti (drums).

Sunday, September 1 – ROGER BEAUJOLAIS: (Cherry Tree, Knowl Green, 8pm, £8. Details: jazz-nights.com) Vibraphone wizard in an evening dedicated to the work of MJQ legend Milt Jackson, with Chris Ingham (piano), Bern Hodgkins (bass) and Roger Odell (drums), plus a set from singer Larraine Odell. ALBERT GARZA: (The Fox, Bury, 7.15, free) Saxophone-led trio featuring Texan tenor Albert Garza (saxes) plus piano and bass. BEYOND CANTALOUPE: (Hotel Hatfield, Lowestoft, 8.30pm, £7. Milestonesjazzclub.co.uk) Quintet tribute to the Blue Note era of Herbie Hancock led by pianist Simon Brown with Tom Clay-Harris (trumpet), Martin Eaton (tenor sax), Ivars Galenieks (double bass) and Brian McAllister (drums). ANDY BOWIE: (Tram Shed, Cambridge, 8.30, free) Tenor saxophone-playing philosophy professor leads a quartet presenting a connoisseur’s choice from the modern jazz repertoire, resident at a new venue.

Monday, September 2 – JAZZ JAM : (The Windmill, Knox Road, Norwich, 8.30pm, free. Details: jazzjam.org.uk) New venue for established and friendly jam session led by bassist Brendan Youngs and guitarist Lee Vasey. All musicians welcome for sitting in.

Wednesday, September 4 – ROGER BEAUJOLAIS: (Lakeside, Lyng, 8pm, £10. Details: lakeside-jazz.com) The vibraphone maestro continues his Milt Jackson Tribute tour of East Anglia, with Chris Ingham (piano), Bern Hodgkins (bass) and Roger Odell (drums).

Thursday, Septemer 5 – SOLE BAY JAZZ BAND: (Maltings Pavilion, Ditchingham, 8pm, free. Info: 01986 896143) Residency for established and popular Dixieland band, featuring Ray Simmons (trumpet), Tim Densham (clarinet/sax), Ron Hockett (clarinet/saxophone), Alan Cugnoni (banjo/guitar), Tony Jullings (bass) and Craig Hipperson (drums).

Friday, September 6 – LIANNE CARROLL: (Stoke By Nayland Hotel, 8pm, £18. Details: fleecejazz.org.uk) A special solo performance by the UK’s premier singer/pianist. Expect soulful, dramatic and vivid renditions of standards and originals.
