A family fun day is being held to mark what would have been the fifth birthday of Jacqui and Lee Armstrong’s stillborn son.
The couple, from Bury St Edmunds, had 48 ‘precious, painful and bittersweet hours’ with Jacob after he was born ‘sleeping’ on May 12, 2010.
They ‘tried to imprint every tiny detail of him to memory’ and say leaving hospital without him broke their hearts.
His birthday is a particularly painful time for them, which is why they are hosting Jacob’s Big Birthday Bash this year.
The event will include bouncy castles, character appearances, face painting, cake stalls, craft activities, a raffle and a memory tree for families who have also lost children.
It will take place at All Saints’ Church, in Park Road, Bury, from 11am-4pm on May 2. Money raised will go to Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity. To donate, visit www.justgiving.com/Jacqui-Armstrong2
