An Ixworth family will be donating to an East Anglian charity by running through a shower of colour in Nowton Park next week.
The Tofts family will don white T-shirts and take part in the West Suffolk Colour Dash event in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), who have given them care and support for 17-year-old Annie Tofts.
Annie suffers from severe epilepsy, severe learning difficulties, Autism and a twisted spine. Her mum Jackie felt the support the charity’s hospice in Quidenham has given her family over the years is priceless.
She said: “Due to the complexity of Annie’s needs it is really the only place we know she will be safe and be really well looked after. Annie continues to smile and is an inspiration to us all, She loves her time at Quidenham and we are all able to enjoy fun family activities in a way that isn’t always possible anywhere else.”
When the charity announced the Colour Dash, which will be taking place on Sunday, September 20, dad Matt, 16 year-old sister Emily, 10 year-old brother Harry, Emily’s friend, Phoebe and Jackie all signed up.
Jackie continued: “We felt like the Colour Dash would be a great idea to try and give something back to the hospice. The girls are looking forward to the run and getting splattered with the paint, and the boys are going to concentrate on making it to the end.”
EACH supports and gives care to families across Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex and Norfolk, the charity needs £16,000 every day of the year to provide it’s services.
