Ixworth Army Cadets have collected shoe boxes of gifts which have been sent to 15 Squadron RAF Regiment in Afghanistan.

Cadets Cpl Robson Barwell and L/Cpl Rachel Jackson organised the collection.

One of their instructors, Cpl Barwell’s brother-in-law SAC Steven Lane is currently serving in Afghanistan with RAF Honington’s 15 Squadron while his father Flt Sgt Peter Lane is also posted in Afghanistan.

“Ixworth army cadets have filled and sent 27 shoe boxes to SAC Lane and the lads of 15 squadron in Afghanistan and hope that they will enjoy them especially with Christmas coming up fast and being away from their families at this time of year,” said Sgt Lesley Utting, second in command at Ixworth Cadets.
