A BUDDING film-maker has paid tribute to a course that has given him the confidence to start his own media business.

Douglas Wright, 28, from Brandon, has launched New Media Video Services with the help of friends Louis Debenham, 19, from Thetford, and Kiera-Rose Riley, 19, from Glemsford.

Douglas is a second year media production student at West Suffolk College and said the practical nature of the course had given him skills to use in the marketplace.

He said: “It was great to be around like-minded people – everyone helps and supports each other. The course gives students confidence and encourages them to take responsibility.”

The company will be producing high quality, affordable online marketing videos for businesses.

They have already produced a college year book and DVD for the performing arts students’ end of year show.
