Burger King could make a return to Bury St Edmunds and create about 20 new jobs.
The fast food chain closed in The Cornhill years ago.
Now a planning application has been submitted for Burger King to open a 75 seater restaurant on the arc.
The unit it has applied for fronts onto St Andrews Street South next to Waterstones.
CBRE who are behind the application said: “Unit 35 has been vacant since the arc opened in 2009 despite extensive marketing over the last four years at a local and national level.”
“The proposals provide the opportunity to bring into active use an existing vacant unit in the town centre and will provide up to 20 jobs.”
