The Suffolk Church Singers which is celebrating its tenth anniversary will perform a new hymn to St Edmund next month.
The hymn, composed by the group’s founder David Leeder, with words by James Fowler, adapted from a poem by Barbara Bonner-Morgan, will be performed at Bradfield St Clare Parish Church, the closest church to where King Edmund was slain back in 869AD.
The concert takes place on November 24 at 2.30pm.
All the funds raised by each Suffolk Church Singers concert goes to repair the host Church. So far the group has raised £10,000 in the 10 years. Historian Clive Paine also gives a history of each church at the concerts.
Tickets cost £7 and are available on the door or from Pat Hipwell 01284 386636 or Margaret Howlands 01284 388637.
