A KEEN aviator who broke his black in a serious flying accident has battled back to fitness and on Sunday joined others in the Olympic Stadium run.
Howard Cook from Horringer ran five-miles through the Olympic Park in the National Lottery run passing iconic venues in the Olympic park including the Velodrome and Aquatics Centre before reaching the finish line.
Howard who works for St Edmundsbury Borough Council as a community projects officer in its leisure services injured his back in a Canadian plane crash.
A member of the Rougham Tower Association and keen flyer Howard was back flying again after the crash but said the process of recovery had been a ‘long hard road.’
He said: “It was a wonderful expetrience to get an Olympic athlete’s view running in the stadium, a great privilege that brings this 2012 Olympic year to life.”
